Antique 18thC KPM Berlin Porcelain Scenic Cup & Saucer Porzellan Tasse Scene

A cup and saucer made by KPM around 1780. KPM used no painters mark like the red orb yet during this period thus you only have the blue scepter and impressed marks most of the time. It is hand painted with a superb scene in black inside a gold circle with a bow and floral garland on the top as well as some scattered small flowers and a nice gold trim. The cup even has the flower on the inside bottom which is a sure sign of quality. Nice handle shape and gold trim to the handle.

The scenes are top quality and I guess are harbor type scenes with a water element in the front a church in the background on the cup and some buildings and ships in the background on the saucer. Nice gold trim to the rims. This is one of the best cups I have owned that was made by KPM in the 18th century. The set is in super display condition with the cup being perfect and the saucer has four rim chips expertly restored. Really only visible with light shining through.

The cup is 1.875 inches tall and 3.125 inches in diameter. The saucer is 1.25 inches tall and just under 5.25 inches in diameter. Both are marked underneath with the under glaze blue scepter. There seems to be an impressed number 12 on both pieces but they are hard to see.
