A very rare large plate made by KPM around 1845. It is from the actual Breslauer Stadtschloss royal service and not a copy for the general public. Never come across one of these before. Sadly not the original 18th century version but a mid 19th century replacement piece but still something very special and rare. The piece is hand painted with the blue scale trim along the edge that make this design so popular and stunning along with some floral garlands a nice large floral arrangement in the center as well as three small bugs.
A stunning piece with some nice history attached to it. The plate has the royal cypher of Wilhelm I (Wilhelm Rex) of the House of Hohenzollern without the crown so before he was King or later on Kaiser (Emperor) of Germany. He was the prince of Prussia during this time. The plate is 1.125 inches tall and 10.625 inches in diameter. It is marked underneath with the under glaze blue scepter mark as well as the red orb and the royal cypher above it as well as a painter's mark and the usual impressed marks one finds on KPM pieces from this period. Amazingly the plate is in perfect condition! Koenig König Royal German Germany 19th century royalty monogram Monogramm Kaiser 19thC.
