Extremely fine executed hand painted porcelain plaque, depicting a portrait of a. This plaque is very fine painted with superb details and realistic expression.

She is holding her eyes on a platter which is the traditional way St Lucy is depicted. In medieval accounts, Saint Lucy's eyes are gouged out prior to her execution. Long: 5 3/4 inches (14.5 cm). Wide 4 inches (10 cm). Long 11 3/8 inches (29 cm).

Wide 9 1/2 inches (24.5 cm). 1 inch (2.5 cm). Condition: The porcelain plaque is in VERY GOOD condition. In the right corner upper, it has some waste on gilding. The wood frame is in wonderful condition.
