A plate made by KPM in 1891 for the personal use of Kaiser Wilhelm the Second. It is from the Neuosier service which is still being produced today and is quite nice. The rim has a basket weave design to it with a superbly gilded motif on it and the inside bowl has a large handpainted floral arrangement in it with four smaller arrangements on the edge.
What makes this piece special besides being a nicely done piece is the fact that it was made for him and has his personal monogram on the back! The plate is in great condition with a tiny bit of wear mostly to the outer edge of the gilding and a tiny bit of stacking wear to the white area. The plate is 1.5 inches tall and has a diameter of 9.5 inches.
It is marked underneath with the under glaze blue scepter, the red orb as well as some artist marks and impressed marks common to KPM pieces. And off course the WR under a crown and the year 1891 under that. Also an old Christie's sticker. German Royal Germany 19th century Royalty.
