A damaged porcelain egg shaped tea caddy / jar on three feet with a lid made by KPM around 1900. Could also be used as a nice lidded small vase. The piece is hand painted with a nice cherub / putti scene on the front with the rest of it having a rich cobalt blue ground color and some nice gilding on that. Typical lid shape for this type of caddy.
It is marked with the SgrP mark under the scepter in under glaze blue for Seger porcelain under the lid and a painter's mark in gold in the form of a triangle on one of the legs of the main body. The scepter would have been under the blue ground and cannot be seen. Seger porcelain is very rare and sought after. He most famously worked on copying the famous Chinese glazes like the Ox-Blood glaze and crackle glazes. The piece is 5.75 inches tall and 2.75 inches in diameter. Like I said it displays very nicely!
