Antique Porcelain Cabinet Vase KPM & Dresden Listed Artist Louis Knoeller 1890's. Louis Knoeller was a porcelain painter of plaques and plates depicting scenes from well-known paintings. He was active in Berlin and Dresden, Germany ca. He won first place in the Dresden Exhibition of 1891.
His works were selected and traveled to represent Germany's finest examples of painted porcelain for the World's Columbian Exposition May 1 - October 30, 1893 in the category of "Fancy Articles on Painted Porcelain" for Furniture, Ceramics & Mosaics. Vase is in a Sevres blue ground, the scene is of a woman being courted by a mandolin player. At the bottom base is the Knoeller Dresden signature, which also indicates the production location.
It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. It measures 7" inches tall 3.5" inches from handle to handle and is 9 inches in circumference around the widest part.
