C1790, FINE ANTIQUE 18thC BERLIN HAND PAINTED RETICULATED PORCELAIN BIRD PLATE. A highly decorative antique late 18th Century hand painted Berlin ornithological cabinet plate, of substantial proportions with gilt and pink enamel decorated reticulated rim, the centre painted with a parrot with blue and red plumage perched in a tree, surrounded by floral sprays and flying insects. A hand written collectors label. Width: 31.4 cm or 11 7/8 inches. In very good antique condition, without damage or restoration, sounding with a clear ring. Firing flaw or air bubble to the glaze of the underside rim (please see gallery image 10). Please see the images provided which complement this description.
