Exceptional Antique KPM Porcelain Royal Berlin Battle Scenes Rams Head Vase. 6¾ h x 5½ dia, c. Finely molded rams heads on each side of bulbous center above bowl shape base & round bead foot surmounted by long neck flaring to round smooth edge rim. Center hand painted scenes on each side of a military or expeditionary character.

One of a mounted bugler and rider attending his mount at an encampment. The other is an action scene with one rider shooting at two others whose mounts are rearing & falling. These are within quatrefoil gilt frames which are elaborately gilt embellished in Empire style with fans, scrolls & diapers. The neck is hand painted in color floral bouquets on each side.

The base and outer top rim are gilded over molded foliation. The inner top rim continues the gilt enhancement of the paintings.

Blue under-glaze scepter mark of the Koniglich Porzellan- Manufaktur Berlin, the Royal Porcelain Manufactory Berlin. An outstanding example of the change from the Neo classical style followed from the 1760s to just before Napoleons occupation of Prussia in 1806 to the Empire style engendered by those events.
