KPM Cornucopia Vase Fairy Girl Figurine Antique German Porcelain 8 in
In excellent condition, this is a lovely example of the porcelain art of 19th century Germany when Thuringia was the center of the porcelain industry and renowned for excellence. The little, smiling fairy stands on a white ball which has the same crusty texture as the two cornucopias. A crown of gold is upon the fairy's head and her dress is Grecian in style with "pearl" pins at the shoulder and thighs.
The figurine stands upon a decorated plinth and the total height is about 7.75 inches. On the bottom of the incorporated base, the underglaze blue KPM mark with crossed swords stands for Kisters Porzellan-Manufaktur. That indicates that this was made between 1887 and 1905 by the KPM factory of August Kister. It's also impressed with the numbers "779, 10" and there is what appears to be the painter's signature in red, over the glaze.
This is in fine condition with only a couple of broken stems, of which I've include a close-up photo example. 7.75" tall and about 6" wide.
