Antique porcelain plaque with hand-painted portrait - no transfer. Plaque measures 5 5/8 wide x 7 5/8 high; the frame measures roughly 10 x 12. The antique velvet was crumbling so I replaced it with new dark green 100% silk velvet. The frame is original and comes with a partial provenance on the back, dating it to late 19th/early 20th century. There is only a small bit of gesso damage on the frame, but not visible from the front.

To clarify, this piece is not identifiable [to me] as KPM since there is no impressed scepter mark, but the quality of the portrait is comparable to KPM plaques - highly detailed and realistic.
