Offered here for your consideration is a very fine pair of porcelain demitasse cups and saucers in the Reliefzierat pattern. Both of these cups are damaged and meant for repair or simply to have a great example of this pattern as a study piece. Modeled after the services supplied to Frederick the Great of Prussia for his Potsdam palace. With a hand-painted floral spray of puce-camaïeu flowers, a shaped rim molded in low relief with panels of trellis interlaced with flowering branches, separated by gilt-edged scrollwork, alternating with further puce flower sprays. Late 19th or Early 20th Century.
They are in overall as-is, as-pictured, used estate condition with chips, cracks and repairs. One has a chip in the rim.
One saucer is chipped and cracked. The other has a staple repaired crack and in-painted repaired rim. Otherwise, they have some fine and light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age. KPM blue scepter mark and iron red orb marks / impressed marks and cypers.
