Antique 18thC KPM Berlin Porcelain Letter D Cup & Saucer Porzellan Tasse German
A cup and saucer made by KPM around in the 18th century. KPM used no painters mark like the red orb yet during this period thus you only have the blue scepter and impressed marks most of the time. Both pieces are hand painted with a letter D made up of tiny flowers, large floral arrangements as well as small flowers and a butterfly in the center of the saucer. A superb gold scale trim to the rim and a gold leaf design going into the saucer center and down the side of the cup. The handle has a nice shape to it with some painted relief flowers to its sides. A very fancy cup and saucer that is in OK condition. The cup is 2 inches tall and 3.125 inches in diameter. The saucer is 1.125 inches tall and has a diameter of 5.25 inches. Both are marked underneath with the under glaze blue scepter mark as shown and a puce 8 as a painter's mark.
