A fun plaque made either in France or England in the later 19th century. I suspect it is from the Limoges area of France but this style was also common in England on dishes by Worcester for example. The plaque is nicely hand painted with a fruit scene still life including a bunch of grapes, peaches, some sort of melon and two cherries lying in the foreground.
The piece has the edge molded like a frame which was then gilded but it is one piece made up of porcelain. The scene is signed on the right side in the shade of the fruit as shown. I cannot make out the full name. The piece is in great condition with some wear to the gilding on the edges as shown. One tiny rough spot on the corner of the frame which has to be felt to be able to find it.It does not take away from the piece at all. Looks superb on the wall. It was made with two metal hangers that are on each side of the plaque about an inch into the piece as shown. Connected in the back with string for an easy way to hang the piece on the wall.
The entire piece is about 11 inches wide, 8.25 inches tall and 1 inch off the ground when laid flat. No mark as to the factory that made it but it is of a very nice quality!
