Antique 20thC KPM Berlin Porcelain Couple with Cat Figurine Figure Porzellan Figur

The lady is standing in the center of the base with the gentleman kneeling down besides her with his right arm around her waist and his left hand playing with the cat. The lady has lots of lace to her sleeves as well as the edges of her skirt that is amazingly in quite good a condition.

The figure is very well modeled with lots of superb detail. Some minor damage to the lace and one lop of a bow in the back is missing but not chips, repairs, etc.

The figurine is marked with an under glaze blue B as well as an impressed B, the number 10 and an impressed sun looking mark as well as a collection sticker and old label to the underside stating it to be a Berlin piece which is most likely true. This type of figure does exist but it normally has a rectangular simple base and the hat is turned right way up.

Maybe the 18th century model had this sort of scroll base and they changed it later in the 20th century. The impressed B could then be the date letter and there are marks that have the scepter with the under glaze blue letter under it but there is no scepter on this piece - might have just been forgotten or burned off during the firing or something odd that happened.

Just a bit odd all around but it is a KPM piece from the early 20th century. The figure is 7.625 inches tall, 5.75 inches wide and 4.375 inches deep.
