This is a superb mid nineteenth century Berlin porcelain wine jug with fine pewter lid. It is made in imitation of seventeenth century Raeren stoneware in the Historismus style. This is hand thrown and moulded with a frieze of strapwork incorporating fauns and bearded faces. The base has the underglaze blue sceptre mark of the Royal Porcelain Factory in Berlin (KPM).
Size: about 28.5 cm (11 inches) high to top of handle. Weight: 999 grams total before packing.
