Antique KPM Berlin Art Nouveau Porcelain Weichmalerei Pill Box Porzellan Dose
A rare porcelain patch / snuff / pill box made in the Art Nouveau / Jugendstil period by KPM around 1900. The piece is superbly hand painted with three floral scenes in the Weichmalerei colors of the period with some raised highlights and lots of nice gold trim of which parts are also raised on a light yellow ground.
The top has a nice floral scene as does the bottom and the top inside. The inside bottom of the box is left white but does have the first quality under glaze blue scepter mark on it. The top inside scene has the number 8149. In black to the edge. The metal mounts are either brass or bronze.
The tabatiere box is in perfect condition and truly a stunning and elegant piece! It is just 1.25 inches tall and has a diameter of 2.25 inches. Perfect for the purse of today's modern lady!
