Lots of gilding on both pieces - the rim of the saucer, the inside of the cup, its handle and the bottom outside part are all gold. The top outside part as well and the center ring of the saucer have this funky red design on a greenish gray ground color which I first though was silver luster gone black but it is not. The red design is made up of tons of little red rectangular bars scattered throughout sometimes by themselves and sometimes in long strands. A wild design that is just fun to look at! The set is in great condition with one shallow rim chip to the underside of the saucer as shown.
A tiny bit of wear but about as minimal as you can find! The cup is 3 inches tall plus the handle which is another 0.75 inches higher and 3 inches in diameter. The saucer is 1.25 inches tall and 5.625 inches in diameter. Both pieces are marked underneath with the under glaze blue scepter mark as well as the red orb mark, a gilt painter's mark and the usual impressed marks. 19thC 19th century Germany Untertasse.
