Antique KPM Berlin Porcelain Demitasse Cup & Saucer Porzellan Tasse Art Nouveau
A nice demitasse cup and saucer made by KPM during the Art Nouveau / Jugendstil period in the early 20th century. Made for Mocha or Espresso coffee but can be used for anything you want off course. Both pieces are hand painted with a nice large floral arrangements as well as a smaller single flower and a butterfly. The colors and style of the flowers are superb during this period much nicer than any other time for this maker I think!
The pieces have a slightly raised design to the paste and a gold trim to the edge. The cup has a great handle shape with gold trim to it and a design in relief to either side of the top terminal. A simple design yet very elegant! The set is marked underneath with the under glaze blue scepter mark as well as the red orb and various painted and impressed marks as shown. Both pieces are in perfect condition.The cup is 2.125 inches tall and 2.25 inches in diameter. The saucer is 0.875 inches tall and just under 4.625 inches in diameter.
