Antique Large German Porcelain Lady / Girl Scenic Plaque Porzellan Bild Scene
A superb quality portrait plaque made in Germany in the late 19th century. The piece is hand painted with a young lady with a nice hair-do wearing a nice earring and a bracelet with a bird flying overhead and three baby birds snuggling up in her pink cloth that is draped over her shoulder. Nice open white blouse with a blue ribbon around the waist, The background is a blue and grey sky with some clouds in it. Really a nicely done plaque! The quality of the painting is quite nice better than many one sees and not one of those printed modern things!
The nicest part is that this scene is not one I have seen before - there are so many that one sees often so it is refreshing when something different comes along. The plaque is about 7.75 inches tall and 5.625 inches wide so a nice size and larger than many.
It comes in a wood and gesso frame that is not in great shape as shown but it still works and looks nice on the wall. The plaque itself is in perfect condition. It is not signed sadly except for some impressed marks on the back as shown. A superb piece of a nice size in perfect condition - doesn't come much better than this!
