Many KPM portraits depict women, a portrait of a gentleman from this period is less common. This painting is guaranteed to be an original hand-painted on porcelain painting from 1885, signed be the artist. The back The back allows the piece to be hung on a wall or stand freely on a flat surface. Inside the frame The label on the back of the porcelain is an early KPM label (Kunstinstitut fur Porzellan Malerei) Also present is the inscribed number 464 and artist stamp. Condition There is a super fine scratch under his right eye.
In person it's more subtle and looks as though it may even be fine line painted into the painting. There are also a few light scratches near the bottom of his coat. I've taken close-up photos to clearly show these two areas. The fabric of the frame shows some wear/loss, especially on the right side. Measurements The frame measures 8.5 inches tall by 7 inches wide The porcelain panel itself measures 6 Inches tall by 5 inches wide.
