Antique Porcelain plaque Florentine frame French Limoges KPM subject Madonna Mary and Child Jesus painted by a listed artist - Delphi Decool. The plaque measures 14" tall by 20" wide. Framed measures : 25" tall by 27" wide.

Signed: Delphine de Cool and dated 1872. Markings: marked on the back with Initial "C" and incised numbers. Exquisite antique painting on porcelain plaque painted and signed by a Listed Artist.

The plaque depicts Mary with baby Jesus and Saint John the Baptist. Framed in the period Florentine Italian carved wood giltwood frame.

Delphine Arnould de Cool was born in Limoges France and studied under her father. She married the painter and sculptor Arnould.

She won a gold medal at the Expositions Universelles in 1878. She won a medal at the Paris Exposition in 1889.

A huge event in her life and one of the very few women artists to be honored exhibiting at the Paris Exposition of 1889. The Paris Exposition of 1889 included some of the finest art, paintings, and sculptures created in the history of the world.

Just to be invited to exhibit was an honor. To win a medal was one of the highest awards of the 19th century.
