Antique PORTRAIT MINIATURE Porcelain Plaque PAINTING Nude MAIDEN Handpainted!! Light deviations in colour due to monitor settings and light. A Stunning Hand painted Miniature Portrait in Ebonized Frame c19th. A beautiful framed miniature hand-painted porcelain plaque of a sensitively depicted nude maiden. The plaque is set within its original ebonized black gesso wood frame with stand.
No idea of its original manufacture or artist although there are numerous penciled / penned wording and numbers to the rear of the plaque. The plaque was removed from the frame to see if it could be identified and photographs taken, prior to this it didn't appear to have been disturbed since it's original framing. The miniature is believed to date to around c1850 - 1900 or thereabouts.
This beautiful plaque is absolutely stunning and is beautifully painted / executed and is of a superb quality as is the finely detailed frame it is set in and is believed to date to around c1850 - 1900 or thereabouts. Both the plaque and frame are in excellent overall condition with just some minor faults commensurate with age, use and display and with these being, on extreme close inspection, there can be seen surface marks, scratches to the plaque with the frame also showing similar expected light wear marks here and there.
The hinge to the stand at the rear of the frame has lost it's original pin and a nail just holds it in place at the moment and other than the above mentioned with no damage and with no chips, cracks or restoration and with the pictures showing its condition and where it can be judged on it's own merit, so please do enlarge and thoroughly check these out carefully if it is of interest. Overall measures including frame ; (10.2cm) 4" inches across (13cm) 5.1/8" inches high. Porcelain plaque measures ; (5.7cm) 2.1/4" inches across (8.5 cm) 3.3/8 " inches high.
