Fine antique KPM hand-painted porcelain plaque in gorgeous ornate antique gilt gesso frame! Presented in a protective wood and glass shadowbox. Signed by the sought after "Wagner" and depicts a lovely blue-eyed maiden with a garland of flowers in her hair, "Adolo" or "Idol". Dates from the late 19thC to very early 20thC with exquisite, finely done details.Authentic incised KPM scepter mark on the back. Oval porcelain plaque measures 7" by 5 3/16" with stunning antique original frame measuring 12 1/8" by 9 7/8". Protective shadowbox measures 14 1/4" by 12 1/4" with a depth of 2 7/8. Porcelain plaque in pristine condition (see pics) with no chips, scratches or cracks. Displays beautifully with colors that are still vivid and vibrant. Possible very light surface wear, but virtually flawless. Any haziness you might see in the pictures is merely a reflection of light. Gilt frame in near excellent original antique condition, but with several very fine age-related (see pics) hair line cracks. Frame appears to be original to this piece and retains its antique patina. Protective shadowbox with minor age-related wear. Overall, this piece is in near excellent antique condition and has been well cared for over the past 125+years.
