LG Antique Painted Porcelain Plaque-After KPM Plaque Diana and Acteon
Up for your consideration is a fabulous and large antique painted rectangular porcelain plague. The plaque isn't signed on the front and has no markings on the back. It is done after one of KPM's most famous plaques.....
The late 19th century KPM plaque was inspired by Austrian artist Hans Makart's oil painting...... The work could possibly be a prototype of the KPM plaque and would thus predate it.

The plaque is very large at 23.5" X 12.25"........ Framed 29" X 17.5" and has only minor wear with no cracks or chips. (We had a hairline crack restored by a porcelain conservator). The gold frame is new with no wear. Sorry about shadows on frame..... The frame is a brilliant gold gilt color. Certainly, this scene is an iconic image in Greek Mythology and would be the center of attention in any room.... You will not be disappointed with this work. All with 100 % ratings.
