A pair of antique German porcelain octagonal bowls or plates. By the KPM Royal Berlin Porcelain Manufactory. With an armorial crest or coat of arms that includes an armored knight's helmet with a crown that has the top half of a horse protruding from it.
The helmet is surrounded by red and black floral devices and a banner below bearing a rearing horse. The rim has a thick band of gilding and a thin band in cobalt. Each marked with a blue underglaze scepter factory mark, a red KPM orb mark in iron red, and an impressed 10. Simply a great pair of armorial bowls or plates! Late 19th or Early 20th Century. They are in overall good, as-pictured, used estate condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. There is some rubbing and fine scratches to the gilt rims on both plates and some wear in the paint of the coat of arms.
Otherwise, there are some fine & light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age. Please see our other related items. Thanks for looking and good luck!
