A superb Art Nouveau period plate made by KPM in the early 20th century around 1913. The plate is hand painted with a superb nature scene in the center including three rock partridges in a landscape surrounding with some nice flowers included. I own a few of these plates and they are stunning when on display!
The rim is decorated in the Jugendstil style with raised gold scrolls and a slightly greenish ground color between the scrolls which is hard to see in the pictures. A truly superb plate and it is in perfect condition. The piece is 1.125 inches tall and 9.875 inches in diameter.
It is marked underneath with the under glaze blue scepter, the red orb mark, their red anniversary mark for 1913 as well as a painter's and gilder's mark and the usual impressed marks of the period. The word Steinhuehner in black script which means rock partridge. If you like my goodies have a look at my other auctions for a lot more top maker pieces like Frankenthal, Hoechst and so on.
